    yes, it's a duck

I can’t help myself. Savage Chickens posts come into my Google Reader, and I read them first. They make me laugh, chortle, snicker, or giggle. They are smart, funny, charming, and spot-on. There’s one for everyone!

Last week, Doug celebrated eight years of drawing these amazing cartoons on post-it notes.

    Some of my favourites:

    Ribbons! (because everyone has birthdays)

And in light of our upcoming trip to the sun: Best Vacation Ever

Decision Workflow (not that we need more justification for endless meetings)

It depends on your point of view: Smartphones

Employee Morale (Prod300 reminds me of the boss in Office Space)

I don’t run anymore. But I would. Ten Miles

The New Yoga (this is the kind my husband has perfected)

Or like comedian Ron White, whose pants fit better. Teambuilding Tip 3

Zoning Out (oh, did I say that out loud?)

The next big thing: Beyond the Web

    Meh. (shorthand for the times)

And my two very, very, very, most superlative favourites:

One for Kristina - I Love You More

    One for Ed - Tigger

If you have a quirky sense of humour, with a healthy dose of geek/nerd culture, I encourage you to wander around Doug’s site and find your own favourites. Please share back here in the comments if you do.

This is a completely awesome thing to find this morning. Hi, Doug!

Your cartoons add so much joy and humour to my days. Thank you for being brave enough to share your creativity this way, and persistent enough to keep doing it, building such a wonderful catalogue of material.
        Keep on keepin’ on!

I’m so glad, Katherine. We need those smiles on dreary winter days, don’t we? Even the bright yellow is cheery to me. (Also, I love your new avatar. Is that you? Your mum? Stunning photo.)

Yes, the Avatar is me. I’m doing a self-portrait project this year (cause there are never any photos of me! I’m always behind the camera). Here’s my post about me taking that photo. http://blog.katherinelightner.com/52-of-me-four/

I am so very glad. hee hee.
I tried to take photos of my neighbour’s chickens to accompany this post, but they were NOT cooperating. They treated me like I was so much paparazzi and they were the Angelina Jolie and Meghan Fox of poultry.
So. It had to be a duck. Ducks I GOT.

I posted “I Love You More” to my hubby’s Facebook wall for Valentine’s Day. In our dating days, we used to say to one another, “I love you infinity plus one!”
My favorite of the cartoons I looked at was “Middle Earth” Middle Earth
Still makes me chuckle! Thanks for sharing, Jet.

Heather, I love the story of you and your husband. My husband and I share the Winnie-the-Pooh quote back and forth that says, “If you live to be a hundred, I hope I live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you.”

The Middle Earth cartoon cracked me up. I missed that one along the way somehow. It reminds me of this song, which makes me snicker every single time. Starbucks
